Qualified!
For many years, I was silently convinced that I didn't quite measure up. I thought others should be leading because I didn't really qualify. I thought I had to have all the answers otherwise I wasn't a good leader. As I struggled with my own insecurity, I would prefer to arrive a little late to a social event with the idea that I would go unnoticed.
It was extremely hard to be in a group of women, because I believed the lie that they really didn't want me there and that I didn't fit in. It sounds so ridiculous as I write this, but it was a painful reality for a number of years. Oh what a joy when He delivered me from my fears and set my feet on the solid rock of who I am in Christ.
Learning to live into who He says I am brought great freedom and fruitfulness. As I began to believe "I am who my Heavenly Father says I am", I gained confidence to live into that, I stepped more securely into my true identity in Him. I began to believe that I truly am a daughter of the King and that He has called and qualified me.
Colossians 2:18 tells us not to let anyone disqualify us because earlier in the book (Colossians 1:12) Paul assures believers that God their Father has already qualified them.
Maybe you can relate to some of what I have shared. There may be circumstances in your own life or words that have been spoken over you that have caused you to believe you do not qualify to receive God’s goodness or that you don’t quite measure up. My prayer for you is that today you choose to believe the truth that your Heavenly Father has qualified you to share in the inheritance of everything Jesus paid for. Therefore you qualify for healing, provision, peace and forgiveness of all your sins! Because He has qualified us and calls us His own, we can confidently step into all that is ours in Christ!
